Eight ways to give yourself some luvin’

kimberlySoapSelf care is super important and can often times fall to the bottom of our priority list. When we take the time to love ourselves it sends a powerful message to our minds that we have our own back. This allows us to relax and trust. And when we’re relaxed, that is where shifts can start to happen. So here is a short list to get your juices flowing on ways to show your body that you love and appreciate it right now.

1) Wear clothes that you feel good in.
This seems like a no-brainer but many times we put on clothes that are too tight or not the most flattering because we don’t want to invest money in clothes that are a size or two bigger than we want to be. Then all day we are reminded that we don’t feel good in our own bodies because our waist band is digging into our stomach. Reinforcing negative thoughts in a physical way is a powerful tool to create what you DON’T want. Wear clothes that make you feel beautiful and watch the magic that unfolds.

2) Find an all natural lotion that smells amazing and wear it every day.
My favorites are Avalon Organics ‘Lemon’ in the summer and Blithe and Bonny ‘Rose’ in the winter. They both have staying power that lifts me up all day long.

3) Make a self-love soundtrack of powerful lyrics from powerful women.
Good music has a way of seeping into our subconscious mind and lifting us up in a way that nothing else can. A few of my go-tos are Natasha Bedingfield, Florence + the Machines, and Sara Bareilles (Brave, anyone?).

4) Wear a bright lipstick or smoky eyes.
Two words: Glamour and Mystery. Channel your inner Marilyn Monroe and see what happens. 😉

5) Start your day with 20 minutes of yoga on your bedroom floor.
Taking time to center, breath, and fully get into your body sets the tone for your entire day and will inform every decision you make.

6) Jewelry!
Crystals are especially powerful but find a gemstone that speaks to you and fill it with your intention to love yourself. Wear it as a talisman and reminder that you rock! (I know, cheesy pun, but I’m going for it.)

7) Bathe in a tub of self-love oils.
Ylang-ylang, Rose, Geranium, Sandalwood and Cedarwood, to name a few, inspire self-confidence and a sense of well-being.

8) Buy yourself flowers.
Place them in the bathroom to raise your energy when getting naked. Place next to your bed so they are the first thing you see when you wake up. You deserve it.

9) Look in the mirror and say ‘I Love You’.
Ok, I know I said eight ways, but this one was too good to leave out and probably the most important of them all. Three simple words. I. Love. You. Boom!
