Hi! I’m Kimberly Millstone, wife to an amazing husband and mother to five seriously awesome human beings. For many years, I struggled with how to define myself outside those two roles. I took my job very seriously, trying to be the ‘perfect’ mom and wife. This was all consuming and sometimes very challenging for me. During this time, I got pretty sick and had to deep dive into healing my digestion and many related issues that cropped up. It took me many years of reading, doctor’s visits and alternative therapies to start to heal and, also, to realize that my thoughts and beliefs created most of my stress and, therefore, many of the health issues I faced. My journey has been ‘trial by fire’ but I have come through to the other side with a great deal of knowledge into how the human body and mind work together to create ease and dis-ease. My training at the Institute for the Psychology of Eating came into my life just as I put this all together and has been the perfect culmination to my many years of study.
I love sharing my hard won knowledge with other women who find themselves struggling with their own relationships with food and body. Our challenges around extra weight, digestion and body image are directly related to all the areas of our lives – work, family, play time, spirituality, etc. It is in these connections that we can get a better grasp on how to bring peace to your relationship with food. This is the main work of Eating Psychology. Your thoughts, feelings and beliefs all impact your metabolism and health. How you digest your life and who you are as an eater is just as important as what you eat and how much. My passion lies in helping you to uncover these truths so that you can view your body not as something broken that needs to be fixed, but as a vehicle to living your most joyous and fulfilling life!
